Missing yield sign leads to accident

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office says two vehicles collided at 295th Avenue and 160th Street on Thursday.

60-year-old Carol Pinter of Fort Atkinson was southbound on 295th Avenue while 37-year-old Sarah Franzen of Fort Atkinson was westbound on 160th Street.  Deputies determined that the yield sign on 160th Street at 295th Avenue was missing, causing Franzen to enter the intersection.

The truck owned by Pinter struck the passenger door of the truck owned by Franzen, spinning around Franzen's truck.

Franzen received a warning for Failure to Yield Right of Way.  Pinter sustained minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Winneshiek Medical Center.
