The United Way of Winneshiek County is a nonprofit organization with the mission to raise funds that are distributed to nonprofit agencies serving Winneshiek County residents. United Way of Winneshiek County currently supports 16 different agencies.
The United Way of Winneshiek County is run by an all-volunteer board and the organization doesn't have a local office, so 100 percent of money raised during fundraising campaigns goes directly to the 16 different agencies.
In addition to fundraising campaigns targeted at local small businesses and residents, the United Way of Winneshiek County hosted a golf benefit at Oneota Country Club in August, participated in parades for Nordic Fest and Ossian Fest, and plans to participate in the Holiday Lights parade. These events are meant to raise more awareness of the organization.
The United Way of Winneshiek County is currently selling raffle tickets to raise money for the organization. Raffle prizes include: an 18" Weber Kettle Charcoal Grill (donated by Ace Hardware), campsite and kayak rentals (donated by Hutchinson Family Farm Campground) and lots of different gift cards to local businesses.
