TOP STORY: Theft scheme is being investigated by the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office is investigating a theft scheme which has targeted several local businesses.

The businesses have received phone calls close to closing time.  The caller says they want to buy some merchandise and asks that the products be left outside the business to be picked up after hours. They give a credit card number to pay for the purchased items, but the credit card is not valid.

The suspects are believed to be two black males driving a white van with Minnesota plates.

Anyone with information pertaining to this case is being asked to contact the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office.
