Former Cresco teacher Tiffany Ranweiler-Oblander, a Decorah resident, will not go on trial Wednesday on a charge of sexual exploitation by a school employee.
Ranweiler-Oblander is accused of engaging in sexual contact with an 18-year-old student in the Howard-Winneshiek School District during the school year, away from Crestwood High School.
She has now agreed to enter a guilty plea to the charge, cancelling Wednesday's scheduled trial. Instead she will appear in court on Monday, September 23rd, for a plea hearing and sentencing.
Earlier, Ranweiler-Oblander was put on administrative leave from her teaching job; was banned from the school grounds; and was forbidden to have contact with the student.
