Decorah Community School District revises Open Night policy

On Monday the Decorah Community School District Board of Directors adopted a revised version of the Open Night policy.

The new language, altered lightly from the original, reads as follows:

"School activities will not be scheduled for elementary students after the regular school hours on Wednesdays. Middle school activities will conclude by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesdays. Beginning the last Wednesday in August through the first Wednesday in May, high school activities will conclude by 6:00 p.m. on Wednesdays with exceptions allowed for tournament games sanctioned by the IHSAA or the IGHSAU, and for other high school activities with unforeseen or extenuating circumstances. It shall be the duty of the building principal and/or the building activities director to oversee the scheduling of school activities for compliance with this policy."
