C-SPAN made a stop in Decorah on Thursday evening. A bus fitted with displays about the 2020 election campaign, as well as a mobile studio, visited Toppling goliath from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
C-SPAN marketing representative Jenae Green says the bus was at the Iowa State Fair and broadcast live when any of the presidential candidates visited. It also made stops in Dubuque and Charles City this week as part of a campaign to not only cover the 2020 presidential campaign, but to explain to the public how it works. People who visited the bus in Decorah were able to see an "interactive classroom" with information relating to the 2016 election and the lead-up to the 2020 election.
C-SPAN was started in 1979 when a number of cable TV companies agreed to fund a public affairs channel. Green says C-SPAN operates three channels, all of which are dedicated to providing live and unbiased coverage of government.
