Letter to the Editor: "How about flying the American flag?"

(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by Kevin Lee of Freeport):

"How about flying the current American flag? To me it represents everyone in this country. Straight, gay, poor, rich, immigrant, native, every color folk from black to white, even those that snuck in and those that are anonymous. Everyone here in the USA

Groups like to show their pride for their group. They can have a flag representative of their group but not representing everyone. Government is not a specialized group. At-least it is not suppose to be. Government is to represent everyone in the country. It should not sponsor a specialized group by flying their flag.

There are lists of governmental agency flags on the internet. Government should fly only governmental flags that are current. But above all is the American flag. Otherwise, maybe a GENERIC flag might be in order."
