City of Decorah has learned it won't get any money to promote the 2020 US Census

The City of Decorah won't get any financial help from the federal government to promote participation in the U.S. Census.

City Clerk/Treasurer Wanda Hemesath says Decorah received a $25,000 grant to promote the 2010 Census.  She says the Census Bureau has told the city such funding will not be available in 2020.

The U.S. Census Bureau in 2010 announced that 84 percent of households in Winneshiek County returned their 2010 Census forms.
