City of Decorah officials are pleased with the progress being made in the construction of a new Oneota Drive Bridge.

Crews still have a lot of work ahead of them, but the project "has been going along smoothly," according to City Administrator Chad Bird.

Half of the existing bridge has been torn down and half of the new bridge's supports have been installed.  Crews still need to complete the first half of the new bridge, then tear down the second half of the old bridge and finish construction of the second half of the new bridge.

Bird says the construction project is still on schedule to be completed by the end of November.
