Winneshiek Medical Center is sponsoring an adult anxiety and depression coping skills group session starting Thursday night.
The closed group offers people age 18 and older a safe place to talk with others who face the same issues. It will also teach positive coping skills and strategies to manage stress.
Mayo Clinic Health System psychologist Bridgette Hensley will lead the group. She says, "This type of group therapy is more like a class – not a process group or support group. It offers hope, valuable feedback and education, enhanced by the fact that no one feels they are 'alone' in coping with anxiety or depression."
The Anxiety and Depression Coping Skills group will meet from 5:15 p.m. until 6:15 p.m. for eight consecutive weeks starting Thursday. Space is limited; regular attendance is expected. Contact the medical center for more information.
