Work will be done this fall and next spring to set up a Locust Road detour

Before work can begin on reconstructing Locust Road, a detour must be set up.  City of Decorah officials have designated Ridge Road as the detour route—but that street also needs some repairs.

City Engineer Jeremy Bril says work will begin this fall on patching problem areas on Ridge Road.  The biggest problem area of Ridge Road is the hill and work on that portion of the road will probably be done next spring.  Bril says work could be done this fall, but city officials don't want to begin the project now and not be able to complete it because of bad weather.

However, bids will be solicited this fall for both parts of the Ridge Road project, with the hill portion of the project being able to be done either this fall or next spring.
