Representatives from Cubic Marketing from Tulsa, Oklahoma Wednesday morning unveiled the marketing campaign that will be launched for Visit Decorah.
Cubic staffers Amber Row and Libby Bender said their work can be used to attract more overnight visitors to Decorah and Winneshiek County.
They said their marketing strategy aims at showing people how Decorah is different from other communities and they mentioned outdoor attractions, historical resources and activities for families. One of the people they interviewed as part of their work also mentioned of Decorah, "Downtowns don't exist like this anymore."
The slogan Cubic Marketing presented is "Drift Less." It also includes the tag line, "Glaciers missed us. Be sure you don't."
Bender says the new logo and other materials have "incredible flexibility" and can be used to promote a variety of types of attractions in the area.
The Visit Decorah destination branding project has been funded by the Hotel/Motel Marketing Committee that manages 25 percent of the local lodging tax.
