Cresco man arrested on criminal mischief charge

A Cresco man has been arrested on a 3rd degree criminal mischief charge for something he allegedly did while previously in the Winneshiek County Jail.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office says 32-year-old Samuel Melver is accused of destroying a sprinkler head in the jail, causing a total of $1,300 in damages.

Melver was arrested by Winneshiek County Sheriff's Deputies and taken from the Howard County Jail to the Winneshiek County Jail.
