Winneshiek Medical Center is offering a new way to look at your relationship with food through a course called Healthy Body, Mind and Spirit.  The four-session course costs $80, and runs September 17th through October 8th.  To learn about what the course will entail and find out if it is right for you, plan to attend a free informative gathering on September 10th, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the WMC lower level conference rooms to hear an overview of the content and ask questions.

Healthy Body, Mind and Spirit is a course open to anyone interested, age 17 and older. Topics discussed in the course include, but are not limited to: dieting vs appetite-driven eating, metabolism basics, physical, mental and emotional connection to what we eat and identifying different types of hunger.

The course is taught by Sue Zbornik, nutrition services director at Winneshiek Medical Center. Zbornik is a registered, licensed dietitian, who has experience helping chronic dieters. "Our bodies were meant to work for us, not against us. There are billions of dollars spent on dieting each year. However, after dieting, nearly everyone regains most, if not all, of their lost weight within five years," says Zbornik. She adds "My mission is to help improve one's relationship with food and their body, and explore the why and how their eating supports their body, mind and spirit."

If you are interested in attending Healthy Body, Mind and Spirit please be present at the free informative gathering, held on September 10th. No registration necessary. The course will begin on September 17th, and will cost $80 per person, which will be collected upon registration at the free informative gathering (credit cards will not be accepted). For more information call Sue Zbornik at 563-382-2911.
