A workgroup hosted with Cubic in May
Decorah is becoming more and more of a tourism destination. That's why several local groups joined together earlier this year to talk with a consulting firm about marketing tourism in Decorah.
Wednesday morning at 8:00 a.m. at the Hotel Winneshiek, representatives from Cubic Marketing from Tulsa, Oklahoma will share the results of their work and will unveil the marketing campaign that will be launched for Visit Decorah.
Cubic staffers visited Decorah for four days in May. Decorah Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kristina Wiltgen says a diverse group of Winneshiek County residents participated in groups and interviews and shared their perspectives about Decorah with the Cubic team. Says Winneshiek County Development Executive Director Stephanie Fromm, "It was a rewarding experience for us."
Wednesday's meeting at 8:00 a.m. in the Steyer Opera House of the Hotel Winneshiek is open to the public. However, reservations are suggested by calling (563) 382-3990 or emailing

The Visit Decorah destination branding project has been funded by the Hotel/Motel Marketing Committee that manages 25 percent of the local lodging tax.
