Two-vehicle accident causes $2,000 in damages

The Decorah Police Department reports two drivers were involved in a minor collision at the Highway 9 and Old Stage Road intersection on Wednesday afternoon.

64-year-old James Boyle of Decorah was stopped at a red light on Old Stage Road. He proceeded to turn westbound onto Highway 9 and and reports he did not see 68-year-old Vernoe Whitaker of Decorah approaching in the right lane of Highway 9.  Boyle's vehicle struck Whitaker's and the collision caused a combined $2,000 of damage. No injuries were reported. Boyle was cited for failure to have insurance.
