Two-vehicle accident causes $2,500 in damages

The Decorah Police Department was dispatched to Highway 52 for a two-vehicle accident Tuesday around 5:00 p.m.

A Bruening Rock Products truck driven by 54-year-old Kenneth Henkel of Decorah was heading east on Highway 52 when a Dodge Ram truck driven by 52-year-old Arla Dawley of Ridgeway failed to yield and attempted to turn left in front of the Bruening truck. Henkel applied the brakes, but struck the rear panel of Dawley's truck causing $500 of damage to her vehicle and $2,000 of damage to the Bruening truck. No injuries were reported.
