Charges are pending after a car struck the former Old World Inn of Spillville

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office says charges are pending following an accident in which a car struck the former Old World Inn of Spillville.
The Sheriff's Office says 20-year-old Braden Sanders of Utica, Minnesota, was was traveling on Victory Street in Spillville at a high rate of speed shortly before 11:00 last Wednesday night. Sanders ran the stop sign and struck the former Old World Inn, causing over $5,000 in total damages.
Sanders sustained serious injuries and was transported by private vehicle to a hospital. This accident remains under investigation. The Sheriff's Office says charges are pending.
