Kadens Kloset: Decorah is a volunteer-run non-profit organization that exists to physically and tangibly meet the needs of foster and adoptive families, children in care, teens, expectant mothers and local families in the Decorah area. Since opening in June 2018, Kadens Kloset:Decorah has provided clothing, toiletries and other necessities to over 200 individuals in the local community.
The Kloset offers walk-in hours once a month for shoppers to select clothing, footwear, toiletries, bedding, diapers and other items at no cost. All items are either new or very gently used and have been donated by individuals and local businesses. Shoppers are encouraged to select 5 or 6 items of need, and as many stuffed animals and books as desired. Site co-director Angela LaBelle says she is amazed by the generosity of the Decorah community.
The next shopping day will be Saturday, September 21st from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Shopping appointments can be privately scheduled as well. For questions, contact Angela at
