Plans for a new Dry Run Park on the east edge of downtown Decorah on Water Street have gotten another boost.
Members of the city's Planning & Zoning Commission have approved a tentative site plan for the park. P & Z members said they were hopeful the project would be a way to further clean up the Dry Run Creek area, keeping it mowed and clear of weeds.
The proposed park would be located on East Water Street, next to Riverside Street. Proponents of the new park are trying to raise $170,000 in donations. The Decorah Park Board has endorsed the project--but has stated the money for the park must come from private donations, not Park Board funds.
