One Decorah City Council member says it was a good move to hire a consultant to help with hiring a new Police Chief

Decorah City Council member Andy Carlson says he had his doubts about the wisdom of hiring a consulting firm to help the city with the hiring of a new Police Chief.

On May 20th the city council approved a professional services agreement with Cayler Consulting, LLC for the police chief recruiting process not to exceed $13,500.

Carlson says now that the process has unfolded, he has to admit that hiring Cayler Consulting was a good move.  Carlson told his fellow city council members Monday night that the job by Cayler was "well done."
