Low rent housing program in Decorah will be operated by Upper Explorerland starting January 1st

The Decorah City Council on Monday night approved transfering the city's Low-Rent Housing Authority to Upper Exploreland Housing Authority as of January 1st.

The current part-time director of the Decorah Low-Rent Housing Agency, Laura Olson, is retiring from the position at the end of the year.  UERPC operates a similar program for areas within their region outside of Decorah.

There are currently 86 clients of Decorah's housing voucher program.
