Motorcyclist injured in Saturday accident

A Vinton man was injured Saturday afternoon when two motorcycles crashed together on Quarry Street.

Decorah Police says 57-year-old Johnny Garcia of Waterloo and 52-year-old Rodney Hoeppner of Vinton were stopped on Quarry Street at College Drive, attempting to make a left turn.  Garcia began to turn left onto College when a vehicle appeared in the southbound lane from Locust Road.  Both motorcycles stopped suddenly, with the two crashing.  Hoeppner was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center by ambulance.

Neither driver was ticketed.  The accident did an estimated $2,000 in damages.
