July was another rainy month in Decorah

Eleven out of the last twelve months in Decorah have been wetter than average--including July just passed.
Decorah weather statistician Richard Bernatz says Decorah received 5.93 inches of rain in July. That was 1.87 inches more than the average for the past 125 years for which weather records have been kept.
During the past 12 months, only March of this year has received less precipitation than average. Last September had 5.65 inches more precipitation than average and this May had 4.24 inches more precipitation than average. In all, Decorah has received 53.69 inches of precipitation during the last 12 months--more than 20 inches more than normal.
Meanwhile, temperatures were warmer than normal in July. The average temperature of 75.2 degrees was 2.7 degrees warmer than average. Temperatures ranged from 53 degrees on July 31st to 94 degrees on July 19th.
