Ask the Answer Person: Why are the Commerce Drive street lights still out?

(Kathy e-mails: "Why are all the street lights out on Commerce Dr, and when will this be fixed? The street lights on Commerce Dr. have been out for months, which makes walking on the street dangerous and is causing a lot of wild animals to be running up and down the street. There are businesses that need the lights – what is the delay?"):

The Answer Person replies: "Those street lights are managed by Alliant Energy." According to City Engineer Jeremy Bril, "City staff notified Alliant about the lights being out several weeks ago. Normally they are very responsive.  We will follow up to get a status update."
