Decorah's formal application to become a Main Street Iowa community will take place Tuesday

A delegation representing Decorah will be in Des Moines on Tuesday to make a presentation to the Iowa Department of Economic Development to be named a Main Street Iowa community.

The representatives will be given 30 minutes to communicate directly to the Main Street Iowa Advisory Council, followed by 15 minutes of questions from the Advisory Council.

The presentation will consist of general background information about the community and its downtown, highlighting elements and updates of the application document, and making the case to the Advisory Council that the community is prepared and ready for a Main Street Iowa designation.

On or before Monday, August 5th, the Decorah delegation will be contacted by IDED to inform them of the results.  A formal in-community announcement won't take place until August 13th or August 14th.
