Motor vehicle accident leads to citation and $4,000 of damage

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office responded to a motor vehicle accident Friday night, shortly after 8:00 p.m. in Madison Township.

20-year-old Douglas Usgaard of Decorah was traveling east on Madison Road  when he lost control, hit a cable barrier and went into a deep ditch. No ambulance transport was needed.  Usgaard was cited for failure to maintain control. The accident caused $4,000 of damage.
