A jury trial date has been delayed for a man accused of making threatening phone calls to people at Winneshiek Medical Center.

58-year-old William Harrison Junior is charged with Felony Threat of Terrorism and two counts of Aggravated Misdemeanor Harassment.

A jury trial had been scheduled for Wednesday, July 31st, in the case.  But Harrison's attorney has asked for--and received--a delay until September 18th.  A pretrial conference will be held August 27th.

The phone calls received by Winneshiek Medical Center included multiple acts of violence directed to the Winneshiek Medical Center and staff, according to police. The Decorah Police Department and Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office began a joint investigation with the assistance of the Winneshiek County Attorney's Office. That led to a search warrant being served on Harrison at his home in rural Allamakee County. Harrison was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Winneshiek County Jail.
