The third day of testimony in the Brian Fullhart murder trial spent nearly two-and-a-half hours watching video recorded at the Cresco Police station following the death of Zoie Fullhart March 1st of 2018.

The first video showed Brian, left alone in the interview room, talking and sometimes singing to himself.  At one point he climbed under the interrogation room table, laid down, and said, "I shot my wife."

But it was the third video segment which was the most dramatic.  It captures Brian saying, "I shot her in the head."  After talking a little bit about the standoff with police which followed, Brian again returned to Zoie's shooting, saying, "I'm a murderer now.  I shot my wife, my best friend, the person I loved more than anyone on this planet."

Also Friday afternoon, State of Iowa forensic pathologist Dr. Michele Catellier took the stand to describe her autopsy of Zoie's body.  "She had significant injuries," she told the eight men and six women of the jury.  Dr. Catellier said those injuries were consistent with a shooting in which a gun was in contact with the head when the gun was fired.  "The wound was larger than some gunshot wounds," she testified, adding it also had a star-like pattern typical of injuries suffered when a gun is shot off while in contact with the head.

The trial will continue at 10:00 Monday morning in Cresco with additional witnesses for the prosecution, although it's possible the defense could begin calling witnesses Monday.
