Some Alliant Energy customers in Decorah are without power Friday morning

A piece of construction equipment working just northwest of Decorah struck a power line around 9:30 Friday morning, knocking out electricity to some Alliant Energy customers.

Alliant Energy spokesperson Mike Wagner says 856 customers have been affected.  Alliant crews are on the scene and working to restore the power line and a nearby substation.  Alliant hopes to restore electricity before noon.
