During the past week, the Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office responded to two more river rescues.
On Friday, July 12th, at about 8:00 p.m., the Sheriff's Office responded to three females who had been stranded while tubing on the river near Freeport. They were all able to get out of the river without injury. The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Decorah Police Department.
On Tuesday, July 16th, at approximately 3:45 p.m., the Sheriff's Office and Decorah Fire Department responded to two females who had capsized a kayak near the bridge at Pole Line Road and Bluffton Road. They were able to get out of the river without injury.
Neither call required any advanced rescue measures.
