King Olav V of Norway's favorite car, which was under the care of Vesterheim Museum from 1994 to 2015, has a new home. The 1951 Cadillac Fleetwood recently joined the collection of vintage cars at the Norwegian Roads Museum at Fåberg, near Lillehammer.
The car was purchased before King Olav began his reign in 1957. After King Olav's death, his son Harald donated the car to the International Disabilities Foundation, with the hopes to use it for fundraising. In 1994 the International Disabilities Foundation donated the car to Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum. It remained in the care of Vesterheim until 2015 when the car was donated to the American Car Club of Norway.
