TOP STORY: Brian Fullhart murder trial begins Wednesday in Cresco

Decorah native Brian Fullhart will go on trial starting Wednesday in Cresco on charges filed in connection with the death of his wife, Zoanne Fullhart of Decorah.  Fullhart faces two criminal charges in his wife's death—a charge of 1st Degree Murder and a charge of Going Armed With Intent.

Cresco Police officers responded to a 9-1-1 call last March 1st which reported a shooting at 700 South Elm Street #32 in Cresco.  Upon arrival, officers say they were confronted by Brian Fullhart.  Police said Fullhart was uncooperative with officers and threatened to shoot officers, but he was eventually taken into custody.  Officers then entered the residence and located the body of a woman who was later identified as Fullhart's wife, 34-year-old Zoanne Fullhart of Decorah.

Court proceedings on Wednesday are expected to center around jury selection, with testimony in the case coming Thursday and Friday.
