Decorah Police release results of Special Traffic Enforcement Program

The Decorah Police Department conducted a Special Traffic Enforcement Program over the July 4th holiday, from July 3rd through July 7th.

The police say three speeding citations were issued; one driver was cited for Driving While Suspended or Revoked; one driver was cited for Driving Without a License; three other drivers were cited for various offenses; one narcotics arrest was made; ten drivers were notified of equipment issues; and 21 drivers were given warnings for traffic offenses.

Before the start of the STEP, seat belt usage was recorded as 87 percent; afterward it was recorded at 98 percent.
