June was a very wet month in Decorah

Decorah meteorologist Richard Bernatz says June in Decorah ranked the 25th wettest out of the 125 Junes for which weather statistics have been kept.

The month ended with total precipitation of 6.61 inches, which was 1.88 inches more than the average.  Compared with June 2019, 24 Junes were wetter and 100 Junes were drier.  There were ten days with measurable precipitation, with the greatest precipitation--1.63 inches--coming on the 28th.

As a result, the last 12 months in Decorah are still MUCH wetter than the average, with the total being more than 20 inches more than normal.

As for temperatures, they were pretty typical in June.  The average daily temperature was 68.0 degrees—just one-tenth of a degree cooler than average.
