Dr. Jenifer Ward officially begins work as Luther College's 11th President

The new president of Luther College, Dr. Jenifer Ward, began her first official day on her new job on Monday by drinking coffee. 

Ward, who had formerly served as Provost and Dean of the College at Centenary College in Louisiana, says she wanted to get off to "a community start."  So she took a mid-morning coffee break in the Williams Lounge on the first floor of Luther's Student Union, meeting with students and faculty and alumni.

Ward told decorahnews.com she didn't want to sit in her office on the first day of her new job--she wanted to meet people and have people meet her.  She got her wish--the morning coffee reception drew a large crowd.
