Gundersen Health System is now offering pediatric endocrinology care in Decorah

If you have a child with a hormone disorder or metabolic condition such as diabetes, it is important for them to receive the specialized care they need to treat or manage their condition. In rural areas, this can mean numerous trips to larger cities to receive care.

Gundersen Health System is responding to the challenges of traveling for appointments and is now offering pediatric endocrinology appointments at Gundersen Decorah Clinic.

"We recognize how challenging it can be to take time off school and work to travel for doctor's appointments. Not only does it take time to travel to and from a larger city like La Crosse, but it also costs money," explains Gundersen Pediatric Specialties nurse practitioner Morgan Grabinoski. "That's why we are bringing specialty care to Decorah and making it easier for children to receive the specialty care they need closer to home."

Grabinoski sees children for a variety of conditions including diabetes, pre-diabetes, hypoglycemia, short stature, decreased growth velocity and thyroid conditions.
