Depot Outlet grant will help pay for survey of stone structures in Winneshiek County

The Depot Outlet Board has awarded a $2,000 grant to the Winneshiek County Historical Preservation Commission to help pay for a reconnaissance survey of stone structures in the county.

The grant will help pay for the preparation of a report listing the historic names of stone structure properties, locations, dates of construction, dates of occupation and other relevant historical Information. The grant funds will assist WCHPC in hiring a historical consultant to assist with completing the estimated 15 – 20 Iowa Site Inventory Forms for properties that are may be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.
