"MAGA" flags, round two

Winneshiek County Republican Party Chair Thomas Hansen says in a Facebook post that he has already submitted an application to hold a rally for President Trump on July 4th.

The Decorah City Council this week rejected Hansen's application to fly 33 "Make America Great Again" flags on Water Street in conjunction with the event.  Hansen says he's convinced that if there is no "Make America Great" slogan on the flags he wants to display, his application will be approved by the Decorah City Council.  Says Hansen in his post, "Make no mistake, this is a freedom of speech issue and the City Council knows it."

A resubmitted flag request would be discussed July 1st by the Decorah City Council.
