Winneshiek Medical Center suffers an operating loss for April

Winneshiek Medical Center officials say they faced unfavorable financial results in April.

Revenues for the month were 5 percent lower than they had been in March, although they were up 1.0 percent from April of 2018.  April's operating expenses were $5.3 million, so the medical center recorded an operating loss of $372,703.  That figure was lessened somewhat by non-operating revenues of $52,769, producing a net loss for April of $319,934.

With two months left in its fiscal year, Winneshiek Medical Center is reporting an operating loss of $1,108,178 and a net loss of $533,440.
