A judge has agreed to another delay in the trial of one of the two people accused of first degree murder in last July's assault in Freeport.
18-year-old Dalton Adam of Waukon faces the murder charge in connection with an assault on 46-year-old David Hansen at Hansen's home on Old Stage Road.
Adam had been scheduled to appear at a pretrial conference on Tuesday. Instead, his attorney filed a Motion for Continuance asking for additional time to prepare for trial and/or negotiate plea. Prosecutors agreed to the request for continuance.
After reviewing the Motion, Judge Richard Stoechl scheduled a "final pretrial conference" for 9:00 a.m. on October 9th, and set the trial for October 28th.
