Sheriff's Office releases details about three accidents

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office has released details about two weekend car accidents and one earlier accident.
On Saturday around 6:30 p.m., 17-year-old Reid Fjelstul of Decorah was accelerating out of his driveway and onto River Road. He did not yield to a truck being driven on River Road by 18-year-old Shane Vokaty of Cresco. Fjelstul struck the driver's side rear door of Vokaty's truck, causing the pickup to spin around and enter the west ditch. No injuries were reported. Fjelstul was ticketed for Failure to Yield Upon Entering a Through Road.
Earlier Saturday, around 12:15 a.m., 18-year-old Jordin Hughes of Postville was northbound on 114th Avenue, driving at a high rate of speed, when she lost control of the vehicle, entered the east ditch and struck a tree, totaling the vehicle. No injuries were reported. Hughes was ticketed for Failure to Maintain Control.
The Sheriff's Office also released details of an accident May 25th on Centennial Road near 150th Avenue. 63-year-old David Hoth of Postville had a rear tire blow out on his vehicle, causing him to lose control, strike a mailbox, and roll into the south ditch. A passenger in Hoth's vehicle was transported by Ossian Ambulance with minor injuries. The vehicle was a total loss. Hoth was not ticketed.
