Memorial Day's weather in NE Iowa was something to remember.

Strong winds tore through several counties, including Winneshiek County, where a Tornado Warning was issued by the National Weather Service La Crosse Office shortly after 12:30 p.m.  No damage was reported, however.

Damage was recorded in Charles City and near Lime Springs.  Police say a tornado touched down at the Floyd County Fairgrounds in Charles City, causing extensive damage to the fairgrounds, as well as some damage to houses and a local fertilizer plant.

The La Cross Office of the National Weather Service has compiled a complete report on the storm.  Visit https://www.weather.gov/arx/may2719 for photos and details.
