(The following Letter to the Editor has been submitted by Carolyn Atkinson, who watches the Decorah Eaglecam from Des Moines):
"I have watched the eaglecam since they put it up. Please do not let them tear down the trees. If they need to trim out the bad limbs, do it after the eagles are not using the nest or the location for a while. There is always that time of year when they aren't, before they start getting the nest ready again for the next year. The DNR can go in and cut off the bad limbs and if it needs supporting, do it then. There are always ways around just cutting a tree down."
