County supervisors agree one question on the county employment application form should be left off

Do you plan to apply for a job with Winneshiek County government? If you do, the chances are you will use a new application form.
Supervisors on Monday learned that the current form asks the question, "What is the minimum pay you would accept?" A recent job applicant answered that question--and then got mad when she learned the starting wage for the job she applied for was lower that what she said would be the minimum wage she'd accept.
County supervisors say there's no reason for the question to be on the county application form, since the starting wage for a job is always determined before the job is advertised. They plan to check with county department heads to find out whether there are other questions on the job application form which don't make any sense and can be left off the updated job application form.
