Decorah Public Library looking for volunteers to be summer reading mentors

The Decorah Public Library will be offering a weekly Reading Mentor Program this coming summer.

The program will team students entering first or second grade with caring high school students and adult volunteers for one-on-one shared reading experiences.

"Book Buddies" will meet on Tuesdays from 1:30 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. A kick-off celebration will be held on Tuesday, June 25th, with a culminating event on Tuesday, July 16th.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis with a deadline of June 5th.
