Luther College names its 2019 Commencement speaker

Luther College says its 2019 Commencement speaker will be 1990 Luther alumna Vanessa Frazier, who has been a member of the diplomatic corps of Malta since 1994.

Frazier began her career as a student diplomat in 1992.  While in Malta, Frazier and her directorate led Malta's response to the Arab Spring and the crisis in Libya.  Following these accomplishments, Frazier was appointed Ambassador for Immigration and later Secretary of State at Malta's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She then held ambassador positions to Belgium, Luxembourg and NATO and to Italy, San Marino and Rome-based UN bodies.

Frazier will receive an honorary degree, then give a speech, during Commencement, which begins at 9:00 a.m. Sunday, May 26th, in Carlson Stadium.
