Iowa DNR wants to remove "hazardous trees" from the Decorah Fish Hatchery grounds

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has issued a proposal to remove potentially hazardous trees located around the Decorah Fish Hatchery.

The proposal is based on an October 2016 assessment by the Iowa DNR Forestry Bureau, which identified the hazardous trees for removal. The report also included a plan to replant trees around the fish hatchery property that are a better fit for a public facility.

The DNR will host a public meeting at 6:00 p.m. Monday, May 20th, at the Chuck Gipp Decorah Fish Hatchery at 2325 Siewers Spring Road in Decorah.
