Winneshiek Medical Center officials are encouraged by the latest financial figures for the hospital and clinic.
For the month of March, WMC had an operating gain of $143,162. When non-operating revenues of $58,275 are added, that left WMC with a net gain of $201,437 in March.
WMC officials say total patient revenue increased 18 percent over February's total in March.
However, March's good financial performance wasn't enough to overcome January's and February's figures. Through the end of the hospital's fiscal year third quarter, it still shows an operating loss of $735,475. While $521,969 in non-operating revenues offsets much of that loss, WMC still has a net loss of $213,506 for its 2018-2019 fiscal year.
