Decorah Police say a 65-year-old woman was struck by a truck while using a crosswalk on Water Street on Tuesday.

Police say the driver of the truck, 46-year-old Russell Einck of Decorah, was at the Mill Street/Water Street intersection shortly before noon.  He was distracted by a westbound car on Water Street which he thought was going to run through the red light.  The car stopped, as did Einck's truck, but when Einck started driving again, he struck 65-year-old Carolyn Rod, who was taken to Winneshiek Medical Center.

Einck was ticketed for Failure to Yield to a Pedestrian.
